The Development Research Centre of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government (hereinafter referred to “SDRC”) was formerly known as Shanghai Center for Economic Research which was founded on Dec. 26th, 1980, and was renamed by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government on Dec. 22th, 1995. The SDRC is a decision-making research institution led by Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, providing comprehensive policy-making and consulting services with the functions of organizing, coordinating and managing the government research affairs and projects.

The SDRC is formed by 9 functional departments with 60 research fellow and experts, such as Secretariat Div. Reform Research Div. Opening-up Research Div. Comprehensive Research Div. Economic Development Research Div. Society&Culture Research Div. Research Management Div. and Information Div. Editorial Department of Shanghai Economy Almanac.
