Postdoctoral Workshop of the SDRC Held the Twenty Second Academic Seminar

On the afternoon of April 10, 2018, the Postdoctoral Workshop of the Development Research Center of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government (SDRC) held the 22th academic seminar. 22 experts and scholars, doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers from our postdoctoral workshop, Shanghai Strategic Research Institute, Fudan University, Nanjing University, and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, participated in the seminar. The seminar was hosted by Professor Yuan Zhigang, deputy chief of the Postdoctoral Workshop.

Professor Shen Kunrong, Dean of the School of Business of Nanjing University and who has been appointed Changjiang Scholars by the Ministry of Education, gave a keynote speech entitled “Promoting the High-quality Development of the Yangtze River Delta with Urban Agglomeration”. Dean Shen Kunrong analyzed and put forward suggestions on how to rely on the economic development of the urban agglomeration to promote the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta from the three aspects of the background, international reference, and realistic choice of urban agglomeration development.

Zhu Jinhai, a postdoctoral supervisor from our postdoctoral workshop, exchanged ideas about the development history, implications and bottlenecks of the city clusters in Yangtze River Delta. Professor Yuan Zhigang concluded the seminar by analyzing the status quo, environment, and new requirements of the Sino-US trade war and innovation-driven development. Participants and Dean Shen Kunrong have heated discussions on issues like urban orientation, industrial transformation, and tax output in the development of urban agglomerations.
